IMAGE REDACTION

Cover it. Check the file.

Hide the regions you choose, then inspect the exact PNG you’ll download.

Image processing stays in this tab.
No uploads, accounts or cloud analysis.

Start with your image

Choose a screenshot from your device. Nothing is sent to a server.

Static PNG or JPEG · up to 12 MiB / 16 MP
PNG: 8-bit, non-interlaced. No animated images.

What is checked

The selected pixels, full-image opacity and the structure of the newly encoded PNG. Every edit invalidates the previous check.

What still needs your judgment

Missed details, visible context and information outside your regions. This tool does not detect personal data or remove your original file.

Check the image you’ll actually share.

Covercheck creates a new, opaque raster PNG from your image. It reopens the encoded bytes, checks every selected pixel against the solid fill, checks opacity, and permits only IHDR, IDAT and IEND chunks with valid checksums.

Edits and the original image stay in tab memory. There is no upload endpoint, analytics, remote OCR or image storage. Loading this page contacts its host; image operations do not send content. Clearing the session releases the app’s references, but does not erase the original file, downloads, backups or browser memory forensically.

The checks do not find missed secrets, identify people from visible context, inspect unselected pixels for steganography, or secure a compromised device. No guarantee of anonymity or complete privacy is made.

Supported input

Static non-interlaced 8-bit PNG; baseline/progressive 8-bit JPEG. Up to 12 MiB, 16 megapixels and 8,192 px per side. Animated, multi-picture and unsupported formats are rejected. Transparent input is composited on white.
